*WARNING* This is a self-indulgent post. You might be bored to tears reading it but perhaps you'd be so kind as to oblige me. Or maybe not?

I KNOWWWW that I'm coming off as a crazy madwoman with my OMG JAOKB LOVE LOVE I LOVE YOU comments
Okay lah now got negative comments happy not. Not really about Jakob, more about Season 6 in general. So if you didn't know Season 6 was held in the fall of 2009 which is weird because it was back-to-back with S5. So the winner of S5 didn't really get to enjoy her title before the next guy who won came along.
Also, in America in the fall they have lots of other shows and also the Baseball games and all that. So S6 had to compete with all that. Dunno if viewership dropped but I went to this sytycd lj comm and apparently some not so hardcore dance people would skip it and watch something else, or they were too busy and had to catch up online and only watch result shows live. (Which means less voting!)
There was a longer auditioning period (stupid, really) and the first week of the top 20 show they did a showcase of all the dancers in their own styles and there was no voting. Subsequently the next two shows there wasn't a result show due to the Superbowl and the judges had to choose 4 dancers(2girls and 2guys) to perform their solos and then they eliminated 2.
Which means: America (and me) got less time to see the bottom 3 couples perform their solos and also there weren't any group dances.
I liked quite a few dances from this season but compared to past seasons it was a lot lesser.
Also, the one change that got me the most shocked, and later on angry, was that they didn't have time for an extra week so the finale was a top 6 group, instead of a top 4. The show was also only 1 hour long. Everything was just really rushed. Stupid stupid stupid. There weren't any same-sex danes too!!! D:
One thing that got me really pissed off was that when Noelle got herself injured, they let her have a free pass. She got to stay I guess because audiences weren't voting. And when Ashleigh was injured too later on she could still be voted for.
Makes me really mad for Jessi in Season 3 when she had a heart problem and couldn't perform with her partner. Results night she was automatically in the bottom 3 and got sent home. Nigel's reason was included how she wasn't able to be there for her partner. Frikin made me angry. But then Noelle couldn't have done a solo anyway, she was in a cast, and Ashleigh was in a brace.
Still very sad.
The producers messed up big time by holding the show in the fall, I didn't get a chance to know all the dancers well like in seasons past, even after a few weeks and I still had to guess whether Kathryn was Legacy's or Russell's partner.
(Oh and there were 8 Contemporary dancers and 4 Jazz dancers but look who won? Russell the Krumper. Zzz amazing much lol. What are so many Contemp dancers doing anyway in the top 20? And only one ballroom originally? You mean there were supposed to be 9 contemporary dancers? I think the grouping was so so so skewed gah.)

Okay now critiques on the dancers. (uhhh top 10)
Ashleigh. I like her, but don't love her to bits. She was great and adapted very well to the different styles over the weeks and she wasn't even in the original top 20, so she really proved her worth. I think the husband-wife thing was overrated and Ryan asking everyone to vote for Ashleigh the week she was injured annoyed me. But oh well their top 6 contemporary was sweet.
Ellenore. Loved she when I first saw her in Vegas week, she was so innovative and quirky. Top 20, not the most awesome routines, but a few really good ones. Her bottom 3 solos weren't particularly great either. Uh, where do you go from here? Loved her, but she didn't grow and wow me as much as I expected her to. Bummer ): The Jazz with Jakob was one of the best of the season.
Kathryn. This girl didn't catch my eye until she danced with Ryan ty. She was good but peaked too late for me. Maybe because I didn't care for her with Legacy? Contemporary with Jakob in the finale was sooo good anyway. I think the highlight for her was the sexy thing with Ryan. I forgot if it was the Cha-Cha or Samba. I forgot about her, honestly, in the top 20, until the end and in the finale when I realised she was the squeaky-voice-when-emotional-girl.
Legacy. I'm sorry but I don't like him! He had some really good tricks, that's for sure, but he could never come up to the standards of Hok or Gev or even Dom, whom I don't really like much. He lacked musicality, he just did tricks one after another and did them so much slower than Hok would have. Sure he did grow and improve and did the other styles pretty well but in his own style I was sorely disappointed, especially in his lack of musicality. Bah.
Mollee. So cute, this girl. Earlier on she was just playing around with Nathan, it was really a disadvantage to them both to be partners because they weren't mature enough. Top 10 though she started growing a whole lot but I think she hadn't garnered enough of a fan base to keep on in the competition. It was sad because she's amazing and her solos were explosive. Her voice could be annoying at times but I think she's rather cute.
Nathan. Good soloist, great potential, cute, but probably needed more time before entering the top 20. Some cute routines with Mollee and a more mature one with Kathryn but he didn't hit his potential and couldn't secure his place on the show. Oh well. Wasn't really attached to him.
Noelle. Pissed me off by injuring herself and being safe the first week. Pairing with Russell wasn't too bad, they were cute together, and really nice, but too nice. The Samba they did was just all smiles and niceness and wasn't sexy at all like a samba should be. Enter the Hip Hop routine with Ryan and boom, the tigress comes out. The hip hop was sexy but everything else a bit lacklustre and boring, not memorable.
Ryan. The dude got me really frustrated with his incredibly tight shoulder muscles. It's like they couldn't and wouldn't relax. Annoying, especially obvious in the Disco with Kathryn and I agree with everything Nigel said. Too tight!!! Tender performance with the wife in top 6, that was their highlight for me. Sexy routines with Noelle and Kathryn, nice sad one with Ellenore. I don't hate him but I don't love him either.
Russell. I don't know why but I don't particularly like him. He's nice and endearing and has good personality but I never really got drawn in to his performances, never gotten super excited. He was in the background for me and so unlike many Americans I never fell in love with him. Never really had a breakthrough performance for me.
JAKOB. (LOL) There's only one flaw in him really, it's that his personality didn't shine during the show. Everyone knew what a brilliant dancer he was, but they never really got to know him as a person. Maybe he felt too "perfect" and America was slightly intimidated. I dunno.
Anyway that sums it up. Overall even though I found Jakob I feel sad for this season because I didn't get to fall in love with the entire season like S2 with Ivan and Allison and Travis etcetc and even S3/S4.
I am sorry I didn't get to watch S5 at all. ):
I hope that wasn't too boring for you non sytycd watching people. Ah who am I kidding you didn't read it at all didn't you. It's okay I would've skipped something this long if I wasn't interested in it.
